our first official stop in malaysia (after a quick border crossing in langkawi) was the northern city of penang. we immediately fell completely in love with it for its beautiful crumbling streets and UNBELIEVABLE street food. no joke, this was some of the best eating of our entire trip. looking back months later, we still talk about malaysian food all the time, and especially that of penang. I just drooled a little thinking about it. anyway, the old colonial architecture of penang just screamed for black and white film, hence the overabundance of, well, black and white film shots. this might be the most nostalgic I've been thus far while blogging this trip...enjoy!

one of our favorite sites in penang was the protestant cemetery where sir francis light, who colonized penang in the name of the british east india company, is buried. this cemetery was overgrown and beautiful, and we had it all to ourselves!
