Morgan Fairchild was born on February 3, 1950, as the eldest child in a family of two girls. Her mother, Martha was an English teacher at Richardson High School. Fairchild’s younger sister, Cathryn Hart grew up into an actress as well.

As a child, Morgan was fascinated with acting. As a result, she appeared on Mr. Peppermint Show with Jerry Haynes and auditioned to be in The Little Group three times. At the same time, she appeared in various local broadcast commercials on Dallas-Fort television stations.

Career

By the late 1960s, as a teenager, Morgan had begun acting in television shows.  Her first role came in 1967, when she acted in “Bonnie and Clyde”, as Bonnie’s double. After the first role, the upcoming actress relocated to New York City, to look for new acting opportunities.

After she reached New York City, the actress secured her first onscreen role, as Jennifer Pace in Search for Tomorrow, a CBS soap opera. The role lasted for four years, which enabled the young actress to secure other roles.

Due to her performance, she landed a new role, appearing on television series like “Police Woman”, “Happy Days” and “Kojak”, to mention a few. In the 70s, Morgan continued to earn small roles in sitcoms, and television.

In 1980, Fairchild got a career breakthrough when she landed a regular role on Flamingo Road, as Constance Weldon. The series began on a high note with positive ratings, but they dropped drastically with time. By the second season, it was performing poorly that it was canceled. But, due to Morgan’s performance, she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award.
