Melody’s father is actor Yul Brynner. He was born in Vladivostok, Russia, in July 1920. Yul Brynner was famously known for his roles as a King Mongkut in the Rodgers and Hammerstein during the The Kind and I musical.

Yul Brynner had Russian, Roma, and Swiss-German ancestry, and he was born into a wealthy family. His family was into landownership and silver mining in diferent parts of the world, including Siberia. However, most of the family’s wealth was confiscated during the Russian Civil War.

Yul Brynner migrated to the USA with his mother in 1940. They migrated from Japan and arrived in San Francisco on October 25, 1940. His intention was to get to New York City and initially stay at his sister’s home. His sister had established herself as a singer.

During World War II, Melody’s father worked as a commentator and radio announcer for a French station. Regarding his career, Yul made his debut in 1941 when he joined the Broadway production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. Yul only delivered a few lines acting as Fabian, but his broken English was hard to miss as he had a rigid Russian accent.

Yul Bryner went ahead to star in different films over the years, performing different roles, including acting as an Egyptian Pharaoh.
